It’s All About The Six Packs!

By Pallavi Sharma

Flat Abs

Or maybe something close to a 6 pack. Maybe a leaner, ripped and a more defined belly area for women:) Regardless the gender, this seems to be a topic of concern for nearly everyone these days. Every woman’s heart skips a beat when they lay their eyes on the much sought after Victoria’s Secret models. The models portray perfection, beauty, elegance and confidence all in a package called “hot body”. Isnt that a little ironic that those four elements are very much present even now in each one of us. It is just not great enough because the packaging isnt as attractive as the society of today expects it to be. We all seem to be caught by appearance n appearance only.

This is the kind of human psychology most of these fad diet and body building agencies capitalize on. They promise you a super-model body by showing you the before and after pictures of their previous clients, which many a times seem too good to be true or even unrecognizable in alot of cases! And even if some of these agencies are genuine and do guarantee to make a difference, how many times does it occur to us that we are basically ready to shell out hundreds of dollars for something which requires an effort completely from our side. In other words we are paying a third party for the work which ultimately is achieved only by our efforts!!

No one can do anything for us if we are not motivated enough to change our lifestyle and adapt to better eating and exercising habits. Doesnt all that a great body need is

and dont we all have that very much engrained in our system by birth! The only difference is that in some its more magnified than others. Big deal! That magnification probably takes only few words of motivation from a good friend and off you go shooting for the stars and the desired body!

It is not impossible to become what you desire. Having said that, I am reminded of The Secret and the Law of Attraction. I am a firm believer of this theory and strongly feel that one can apply it in every different aspect of their life. Fitness is something this will work marvelously on. All it takes is, closing your eyes, visualizing your ideal weight and body size and pinning that picture somewhere in your subconscious mind. Constantly keep reminding yourself of it through out the day and let that “hot” image of you be your guiding light. Let that beautiful image keep you on track towards a healthy and a fit life. And see your positive thoughts of being the “desired you” become a thing, become true!

I personally applied this to my life and saw my body change. It seemed miraculous! I was able to attract to myself all that I always wanted. What helped me personally were three things which I made it a point to do every single day. A little bit of all the following:

Cardio, Strength Training and Core (CSC)

All of these in combination made me slender, toned, slightly ripped and strong. However, as its always a work in progress, I am still quite far away from achieving my desired goal. But I have the hope and faith of getting there someday. Most importantly its the journey which is important and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I WILL get my six pack one day!

Welcome to my blog! Apart from being a health and fitness freak, I love writing, and this blog is a perfect outlet for it. I am not a professional writer by any means, but would like to be someday, so I can inspire people far and wide. I am a project manager by day, and go to business school at night. I am happily married to the love of my life, and thoroughly enjoy being a stepmom to two of the most wonderful kids I know. The goal of my blog is just one word – INSPIRE. If I was able to help even one person enough to get them to change their life around for the better, I would consider myself extremely fortunate. I am super thankful to all my readers who have given me so much love and encouragement through the years. You guys rock! I will leave you with one quote – “Monotony is the awful reward of the careful. If you want to change and grow, you need to take risk” – John C. Maxwell
