Being Gatsby

Standard

the great gatsby, hopeful, hope

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s day weekend. This years mother’s day for me was one of the best, because of a few reasons.

Firstly, I started up a blog ( www.ridingthecancercoaster.wordpress.com ) for my Mom who loves writing, and is currently kicking breast cancer’s ass. She was diagnosed with breast cancer a couple months back and is now fixing herself via post-operative treatment. Its funny. People tend to acknowledge the goodness and positives in their lives even more in times of adversity and challenge. And this Mother’s day has been the best Mothers day for me, because I realized that I am so fortunate to have a personal rockstar and hero in my life, my Mom. Her determination and drive to cure herself is exemplary, and that makes me the proudest daughter in the whole wide world!

Secondly, I went to the theatres for The Great Gatsby. I haven’t read the book, but now I am definitely tempted to, simply because I loved the movie. The one thing I liked most about the movie is the character of Jay Gatsby, “the most hopeful man”. With determination so strong, goal so clear and hope so great, how can anyone not achieve whatever they have dreamed of.

I have been listening to “The Secret” everyday to work, and it also has a similar message – Thoughts become things. It impresses the idea of having a clear thought of what you want in your life, and then constantly giving it positive vibrations, until one day it becomes a reality. And the most important part is to be HOPEFUL. My message to my readers is that try being a Gatsby in your life. Focus on what you truly want, and watch it become a reality. Know that nothing is impossible.

Happy Monday Everybody!

About pallavisharma

Welcome to my blog! Apart from being a health and fitness freak, I love writing, and this blog is a perfect outlet for it. I am not a professional writer by any means, but would like to be someday, so I can inspire people far and wide. I am a project manager by day, and go to business school at night. I am happily married to the love of my life, and thoroughly enjoy being a stepmom to two of the most wonderful kids I know. The goal of my blog is just one word – INSPIRE. If I was able to help even one person enough to get them to change their life around for the better, I would consider myself extremely fortunate. I am super thankful to all my readers who have given me so much love and encouragement through the years. You guys rock! I will leave you with one quote – “Monotony is the awful reward of the careful. If you want to change and grow, you need to take risk” – John C. Maxwell
