I consider myself a sucker for home workouts. For the last year and a half, I have tried out pretty much all of beach body workouts, and in addition to them, have found other workouts over youtube and iphone apps. And I can confidently say, one does not need a gym membership to start losing weight! Gyms, in humble my opinion are quite a waste of time unless you are no real rush to get into the best shape of your life! From the point you pack your gym bag, to the point you finally start working out, you probably have wasted an hour, if not more. In that time someone at home could’ve gotten a workout + shower in and got on with their day. Now I have heard things like – “oh its fun to workout in a group” or “who doesn’t like working out in fancy places with state of the art changing rooms”, and my reply to that is – BULLSHIT! If you really wanted to get yourself in shape, you will workout even in your jammies!
Alright, I am done with my rant! Now lets talk about P90X3.
It was released on December 10th, 2013, and a couple weeks later I started following the schedule. I was desperate to change my regimen up again and do something different. And I am really glad that I picked P90X3.
The one thing I liked right off the bat about this workout is the TIME factor. P90X workouts are typically known for their long durations, which can get challenging to complete on a daily basis, if you are a busy individual. It’s easier to say NO to a 1 hour workout, than a half hour one 🙂 And Tony Horton and team definitely realized that and changed things up for the better.
Unlike Insanity and other heavy cardio based workouts, P90Xs are known for their strength training focused workouts. And before I started this workout, I was skeptical about how they are doing to condense strength training + cardio + core in 30 minutes. And I have to say, they have done a phenomenal job! The workouts not only involve resistance training, but they have combined that with cardio moves, giving you a greater return for your time. My favorite workout of all is the CVX. It combined cardio with weights, giving you a great total body conditioning.
So if you are looking for a workout that takes inches off while toning and defining your body, this is the one you should pick.
So far these have been my observations. I will be posting more about it by the end of my program. I am only 2 weeks into it, and I am ADDICTED!
